VOICE OVER TALENT

Recording for e-learning is fantastic. What’s not to love? I get to learn something new every day, whether it’s in the area of computing, medical, or children’s content. Whatever the subject matter, it offers me a glimpse into the audience’s lives; and some excellent information for next week’s pub trivia quiz.

In the pre-VO days, I studied Psychology at University, and my BSc has given me both a great diploma for my wall and an extensive medical vocabulary. One of the biggest voiceover projects I worked on was a 150,000 word drug manual for advanced nursing students – you better believe my medical pronunciation was on point after that!

Voice and actor training in the United Kingdom has given me excellent enunciation, and I have a clear American accent understood by both US and international audiences.

Another favorite was a series I did for PBS, titled “Montana Harvest of the Month”; for which I received a One Voice nomination! You can have a peek at one of the episodes in the video below. I got to learn about all the fruit and vegetables Montana is known for, the history behind them, and I got the opportunity to help educate kids on healthy eating. Food is a huge passion of mine – so I loved working on this.

e-learning is booming at the moment – and it’s not hard to see why. During the pandemic, employees were grounded both away from the office and away from travel. The only solution was for companies to implement e-learning, and many of them, including possibly yourself, found that it was a cost-effective, time-saving solution for training new and existing employees. A great voiceover artist will capture your audience and bring your ideas across in a memorable way. Your employees will leave the course feeling not just like they learned something new, but like they’ve been engaged in the subject matter.
