About Alexandra:
Alexandra Metaxa has been a great fan of using her voice from a young age. Fortunately, her passion has led to work as a fully-fledged voiceover artist from her own Broadcast Quality home studio. Alexandra has lived in many countries, however she has maintained her distinct American-ness and only does a British accent when she’s had too many margaritas. Her country-hopping has given her an international air and a clear, neutral American accent with excellent diction, understood by audiences worldwide. Notably, Alex ensures tax compliance in the US, the UK, and Europe.
One of the remarkable qualities of Alexandra’s voice is its natural warmth. Falling within the medium to low register, her voice possesses an engaging cadence that breathes life into projects, imparting a genuine and authentic feel to them.
Voiceover Artist Genres:
From e-Learning to AAA video game performance, Alexandra thoroughly enjoys embracing a diverse range of voiceover genres. Her impressive repertoire includes notable contributions to renowned games like Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, tackling a challenging 150,000-word drug e-learning module with its array of unconventional pronunciations, lending her voice to the narration of The Crying Book for BBC Radio 4, as well as voicing numerous commercials and instructional videos. Regardless of the voiceover arena, Alexandra eagerly embraces each opportunity as an exciting challenge.
Reputations start and end with clients, and Alexandra prides herself in maintaining excellent relationships and providing fantastic quality across the board. Having collaborated with industry giants such as SONY, BBC, and Microsoft, as well as small independent production companies, she wholeheartedly dedicates herself to every project she undertakes. Understanding the time sensitivity often associated with voiceover projects, Alexandra’s home studio, conveniently located a mere fifteen steps away from her front room, allows her to swiftly record and process files within an hour’s time, no matter the hour or time zone at hand.
Voiceover Artist Training:
Coming from a traditional acting background, Alexandra studied Theatre, Voice and Television performance at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco, the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow, and Drama Studio London, in London. Although her conventional acting days are far behind her, she retains many traditional acting skills to bring voiceover scripts and characters to life. In addition to her performance background, Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Science with honors in Psychology. This comes in useful when delving into a character for a video game, animation, or ‘real person’ training scenario – and also when pronouncing complex medical terminology for e-Learning voiceover projects.
A voiceover artist can never have too much training. Even after a decade of experience, Alexandra continues to enjoy taking classes and receiving mentorship, both online and in person.

Voiceover Artist Studio:
Alexandra’s broadcast quality voiceover artist studio is her pride and joy. It is where she goes to focus, work, and conduct directed sessions on a vast array of projects. It is here that she particularly gets to collaborate with clients from every genre, and from all corners of the globe. Additionally to her home studio, Alexandra enjoys working in production houses in both London and Los Angeles, and is always open to travelling for projects. She welcomes remote directed sessions via Source Connect, Skype, Zoom, Session Link Pro, Microsoft Teams or Phone Patch. Remote sessions are especially useful, as clients can direct Alexandra in real-time, and ensure they have the tone, pacing and final recording that they are happy with. Her studio is well-equipped with a Sennheiser MKH416 microphone, Audient iD14 interface, and a glorious double-walled Silver line Kube booth.
Outside Pursuits:
In addition to being a voiceover artist, Alexandra lives and breathes cooking, baking, sampling new foods, and feeding her friends and family. She particularly enjoys taking on too many crafts, including glass-work, painting, pottery and needlework. She of course loves travelling, reading, goofing around with her toddler, and spending far too much time on Reddit.
